These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Unmute, including all features, content, adaptive quest systems, courses and any future additions. By creating an account or using Unmute in any capacity, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use the app. Your continued use of Unmute after any updates to the Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised version. You will be notified of material changes in a reasonable manner, which may include in app notifications, email or publication within the app.
Unmute is designed for confidence training and personal development. It is not clinical treatment and is not intended to replace professional counseling, therapy or diagnosis. If you experience severe distress, you should seek licensed professional support outside the app.
Unmute is operated by an individual, Floroiu Ștefan, acting as the data controller and service provider.
A transition to a registered Romanian SRL entity is planned. Once the SRL becomes the operating entity, the Terms will be updated accordingly and users will be informed.

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Unmute. By using the app, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirements that apply to your region.
Unmute is rated 9+ on the App Store due to general content suitability. However, the service is designed for users 16 years of age or older, given the nature of confidence practice, interactions, exposure based tasks and reflective content. Users who are under 16 should not create an account.
If it is discovered that an account belongs to a user below the permitted age, the account may be suspended or deleted.

To use Unmute, you must create an account with a name and username. Additional behavioral inputs may be requested during onboarding for adaptive quest generation, but they are not stored in a readable format and are not accessible to the operator.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information. If you choose to delete your account or remain inactive for 1 year, your account data will be permanently deleted in accordance with the retention policy.
You agree not to create accounts using false identity information or to impersonate another person. Unmute reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these conditions.
Access to adaptive quests, courses and progression systems requires an active subscription. If a subscription lapses, limited or no access may apply.
Unmute provides confidence building content through gradual exposure style quests, courses, and social practice prompts. You agree to use the app in a lawful and respectful manner and to avoid any form of misuse, including:
You are solely responsible for your behavior in real world interactions that take place outside the app. Unmute cannot control or monitor the outcome of any social task and does not guarantee specific results in communication skill, confidence growth or social responses from others.
If users behave abusively toward support staff or violate reasonable behavioral expectations, access to the service may be limited or terminated.
Unmute provides training, exercises, quests and courses for personal confidence practice. It is not designed to diagnose, treat, or provide professional therapeutic or clinical mental health services. Content reflects behavioral and communication concepts intended for general skill development only.
Quests may resemble gradual exposure methods and behavioral activation structures, but they do not constitute licensed clinical treatment. Users who experience distress, anxiety disorders, mental health crises, or who require clinical intervention should consult a qualified professional outside of the app.
No interaction within the app should be interpreted as medical, psychological or therapeutic advice. Unmute does not make claims of curing or resolving mental health disorders and does not replace professional assistance where needed.
Unmute uses adaptive algorithms to adjust quest difficulty, pacing, and content based on user input and in app behavior. While personalization aims to make confidence practice more approachable, it may not always produce accurate or suitable results for every situation.
Users are encouraged to proceed at their own pace and to skip any quest that feels inappropriate or unsafe in their particular context. The system is designed to assist in general confidence practice, not to predict emotional states, assess clinical needs, or determine best outcomes in complex social situations.
In addition to daily quests, Unmute may provide courses, lessons, audio clips or structured guidance intended to support communication skill growth. These materials are educational in nature and are not presented as therapeutic or clinical instruction.
The content may reference behavioral principles, communication techniques and reflective practices, but it remains informational and skill focused. Users should not rely exclusively on these materials for critical decisions, emotional well being or personal safety.
Courses may be updated, expanded or removed at any time to improve accuracy and usefulness.
Unmute operates on a subscription access model. Use of core features, adaptive quests and courses requires an active subscription. Subscription management and billing are handled through the Apple App Store.
Current pricing:
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. When a subscription is canceled, access to features will continue until the end of the paid term.
Refunds, cancellations and billing disputes must follow App Store policies. Unmute does not process payments directly and cannot override App Store refund decisions.
If subscription prices change, notice will be provided through the App Store or through in app updates where required.
Unmute uses certain third party services to enable core features such as account functionality, subscription verification and data storage. These services operate independently and have their own terms and privacy practices.
By using Unmute, you acknowledge that some operational functions depend on external service providers and that Unmute does not control the availability, performance or policies of those providers.
If any third party service becomes unavailable, certain features of the app may be limited or temporarily disabled. Unmute will take reasonable steps to maintain continuity but makes no guarantee of uninterrupted access.
User data is stored through secure external infrastructure located outside the European Union. By using Unmute, you consent to the transfer and storage of your information in those regions.
Data is processed and retained only as necessary for account functionality, subscription validation and adaptive features. Storage partners maintain industry standard security measures, but no system can guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access.
If you do not agree to the transfer of your data to servers located outside your jurisdiction, you should discontinue use of Unmute.
All content within Unmute, including quests, courses, visual identity, user interface elements, text, audio, graphics and design components, are the exclusive property of the operator unless otherwise stated.
Users are granted a limited, personal, non transferable license to access and use the app solely for its intended purpose. This license does not allow copying, redistribution, modification, reverse engineering, resale or commercial use of any protected material.
Any unauthorized use may result in termination of access and may constitute an infringement of applicable intellectual property laws.
Unmute grants you a personal, limited license to use the app for non commercial purposes while your subscription remains active. This license is conditioned on continued payment and valid subscription status.
It does not permit redistribution, resale, copying of internal systems, or reverse engineering. All rights not expressly granted remain with the operator.
You agree not to use Unmute in any way that interferes with the integrity, operation or security of the service. This includes, without limitation:
You may not use Unmute for any purpose that is unlawful or that violates these Terms. The operator may suspend or remove accounts found to be engaging in prohibited behavior.
You may delete your account at any time by using the in app option or by contacting support at hi@bedroomlabs.co. Once deleted, associated account information will be permanently removed in line with the data retention policy.
The operator may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or interfere with its intended function. Termination may result in loss of access to quests, courses, saved progress and any subscription linked features.
Inactive accounts may be deleted automatically after 1 year of no login activity.
Termination does not affect any rights or obligations intended to remain in effect after account closure, including limitations of liability and dispute resolution provisions.
If a concern or conflict arises in connection with your use of Unmute, you agree to first contact support at hi@bedroomlabs.co to initiate an informal resolution process. Both parties will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue through discussion, written communication or scheduled calls.
If informal resolution is not successful, the parties may choose to engage in non binding arbitration facilitated by an agreed upon neutral third party. Arbitration is encouraged but not mandatory, and either party may pursue further legal avenues if the matter remains unresolved.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent legal measures where necessary, such as to protect intellectual property or prevent misuse of the service.
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Romania, irrespective of conflict of law principles. If a dispute proceeds beyond informal resolution or optional arbitration, it may be brought before the competent courts of Romania.
Users outside Romania acknowledge that use of the service constitutes acceptance of Romanian jurisdiction for any legal matters arising from these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unmute and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or special damages, including but not limited to loss of data, emotional discomfort arising from social interactions, reduced social outcomes, loss of expected improvement or inability to complete quests or courses.
Unmute provides guidance and confidence practice structures but cannot guarantee results in communication skill, self expression or real world responses. You assume responsibility for your actions and decisions in all social environments outside the app.
No oral or written information provided within the app creates a warranty or binding guarantee. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to discontinue use and delete your account.
Unmute is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The operator makes no warranties regarding uninterrupted service, accuracy of adaptive features, content availability, performance, or suitability for any specific social outcome. Your use of the app is at your own discretion and risk.
These Terms may be updated to reflect technical improvements, new features, legal requirements or operational adjustments. If changes are significant, notice will be provided in app, by email, or through an update prompt.
Continued use of Unmute after modifications become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with updates, you should discontinue use and delete your account.
